Emily Williams is a seasoned sales professional in the field of transportation and fleet management.  Her career started in technology sales but she found her way into trucking in 2014.  Her various roles exposed her to the intricacies of the transportation industry, as well as the profound impact that data-driven insights could have on optimizing operations. Her exceptional skills in understanding customer needs and building relationships soon earned her promotions and awards. As Manager of Business Development for Transportation at Geotab, the global leader of telematics, Emily continues to be a driving force in the trucking industry.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Emily is known for her involvement in both the Ohio Trucking and North Carolina Trucking Associations.  She is a proud mother of three children and resides in Columbus, Ohio.  She firmly believes in empowering the next generation of leaders and strives to create a more diverse and inclusive community in the trucking industry.

Jenny Abernathy
Chief People Officer
CRST

Jenny Abernathy was appointed as CRST’s Chief People Officer in 2022. In this capacity, she oversees all aspects of Human Resources, collaborating with the current Human Resources and Driver Recruitment teams to advance CRST’s dedication to offering career development opportunities and enriching experiences for its entire workforce.

Before assuming the role of Chief People Officer, Abernathy served as the Vice President of Enterprise Capacity Development. In this role, she directed recruitment and driver placement strategies for CRST, ensuring that each division and fleet could effectively meet customer demands. Prior to this position, Abernathy held various management and executive roles within CRST Expedited.

Prior to CRST, Jenny served in multiple operational leadership roles at Target Corporation. Jenny is a member of the American Trucking Association, a LEAD ATA graduate, a NextGen Trucking Foundation board member, and is active within her community of Cedar Rapids, IA, where she resides with her husband and two daughters. 

Jamie Benson
President & CEO
Alaska Trucking Association

Jamie Benson is the current CEO and President of the Alaska Trucking Association. She has been associated with the Alaskan Trucking Association for more than a decade and served as president from 2019 to 2020. Benson was actively involved with the Safety Management Council, Truck Driving Championship committee, and the Annual Board meeting committee.

Benson’s thirty years of experience at FedEx, managing in Alaska and Hawai’i, have given her a keen understanding of challenges facing the trucking industry outside of the continental US. Her background of leadership in logistics, strategic planning, and business management make her an asset to the ATA and the trucking industry. The association expects that Benson’s commitment to fostering positive relationships within the industry will lead to increased opportunities and positive outcomes for all members. Benson lives in Anchorage with her husband Russell and has two children, Quinn and Devlin.

Christy Conrad
Vice President, Legal
FedEx Freight & FedEx Custom Critical

Christy Conrad is Vice President, Legal – FedEx Freight & FedEx Custom Critical. She oversees teams handling corporate compliance, risk management, labor relations, employment law advice and counseling, high-profile investigations, and litigation.

Christy has over 21 years of experience at FedEx Freight, joining as a Staff Attorney and ascending through a series of legal leadership roles before becoming a Vice President of Legal in 2021. At every level, Christy has demonstrated a commitment to leading with integrity and fostering an environment where team members are treated with dignity and respect. She is a four-time recipient of the FedEx Five Star award, the company’s highest honor. Prior to joining FedEx, Christy practiced with a private law firm in Little Rock, Ark., and served as a judicial law clerk for justices on both the Arkansas Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.

Christy earned her law degree from the University of Arkansas, where she was Chair of the Student Honor Council. Early in her trucking career, she participated in Arkansas Trucking Association’s 40 Under 40 Council, and she is currently a member of the Women In Trucking Association. She is a long-time member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, as well as the Tennessee and Arkansas Bar associations. In her spare time, she enjoys running and weight training, reading, traveling with her family, and volunteering with charitable organizations.

 Frances J. Craig-Watson
South Florida Feeder, Division Manager

Frances Craig-Watson has been with UPS in the Transportation industry for over 19 years.

Frances earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Spring Hill College in 1999 and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Valdosta State University in 2005.

Frances is currently the Transportation Feeder Division Manager for the South Florida Division of UPS. In 2008, Frances was promoted to Full Time Feeder On-Road Supervisor. In October 2008, she attended the UPS Driver Training School (DTS), where she certified as a Feeder Driver Trainer. During her tenure at UPS, Frances has had multiple roles while at UPS in different areas of transportation including air operations, UPS Freight, and Feeders. Her current responsibilities include managing and overseeing all feeder operations in Central and South Florida which includes over 600 employees working in 39  buildings and 2 ground hub facilities.

Frances is a member of the Jacksonville Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. In her 25 years in the sorority, she has served as Chapter President and a member of varies committees. Currently, she serves on the Social Action Committee and will participate in the Delta Days at the Nation’s Capital in March. Frances’ true passion is philanthropy, social action, and volunteerism. Frances was the feeder liaison for UPS Road Code at Edward White High School in Jacksonville, Florida. She also serves as the UPS Coordinator for Sanctuary on 8th Street, a non-profit organization that provides after school and summer activities to African American youth in Jacksonville. Frances is also the Feeder Transportation Coordinator for Toys for Tots in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Within UPS, Frances is also very active as well. She currently serves on the Corporate Women in Operations Business Resource Group Committee as the Women In Operations BRG Co-Chair in Florida Other Business Resource Groups Frances is also a member of include the African American BRG, Women Leadership Development BRG, Women BRG, and the North Atlantic Real Talk Committee BRG. Frances led an initiative to develop the Feeder Mentoring Program in conjunction with the North Atlantic Real Talk Committee. The initiative was to introduce more women to the Feeder Department to increase diversity and promote inclusion as well as promoting trucking as a more favorable job for women within UPS. Frances developed a teen program – UPS D.R.I.V.E that was coordinated with the Jacksonville Fire Department and Florida Highway Patrol. This program targeted teens between the ages of 13-17 of UPSers to give them information and resources as they began to drive. Frances was the United Way Coordinator for Jacksonville Feeders and successfully led her division to their monetary goal. From 2022-2022, Frances served as the Jacksonville Feeder Covid Response Coordinator, assisting all employees who were affected by Covid and serving as a liaison to the UPS Occupational Health Department.

Frances serves as the Florida UPS Truck Driving Championship (TDC) Coordinator. Her team has successfully had 7 drivers place in the Florida competition including 2 first place winners that went on to compete in the National Truck Driving Championship. 

Frances’ current accomplishments include becoming a member of the Women In Trucking Association, Being named a member of the Women In Operations DTS Executive Committee, to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion for feeder driver trainers within UPS. She was currently appointed to the Women In Motion Advisory Board for the American Trucking Association. 

Marisol Culley
Chief Operating Officer
Grocery Haulers

With over 34 years of industry experience, Marisol Culley has had firsthand experience in the transformation of the trucking world. Shortly after graduating Magna Cum Laude from American International College, in Springfield, MA, she landed an administrative role with a company called, “Grocery Haulers”, (GHI). She would never imagine how her career with GHI would span over different departments and functions over many years, but it certainly did! She was promoted in 1990 to Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, reporting directly to the President of the Company. This position allowed her to see all the operating companies that GHI owned and operated. She progressed through GHI becoming the Managing Director of one of the company’s sister organizations, Operative Cake. Operative Cake is responsible for the delivery of breakfast and lunch products to all 1600 plus New York City Schools. Upon the passing of the owner of the company in 2022, she was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, overseeing all entities under Grocery Haulers. As COO, she is responsible for all aspects of the company with over 400 employees and contractors to date.

Ina Daly
America's Road Team Captain

I’ve been a driver at XPO for over 39 years and have accumulated about 3.75 million miles in my career. I drive double trailers mostly and get home daily. I haven’t wanted the over the road lifestyle and chose LTL trucking for my career, just as my father did. I’ve competed at the NTDC 16 times, and won the tank class in 2013. I was second in five axle in 2019 and a finalist in the tank class in 2022. My most rewarding experience in trucking has been to serve as an America’s Road Team Captain for the ATA. I’m glad to help women entering the industry in any way that I can. Trucking is welcoming and rewarding, and very diverse. Women are making the industry better, and we would love to have more join us.

Vontyna Durham

Vontyna Durham is a trailblazer in workforce development and a passionate advocate for equity and opportunity in the transportation and logistics industry. As the Founder and Director of Xcelente Training Center, she leads CDL training initiatives that prepare women, youth, and justice-impacted populations for sustainable careers in trucking. She is the first woman in Tennessee to establish a CDL Apprenticeship Program designed specifically for women, youth, and justice-involved individuals, and she created the first youth trucking dispatcher and CDL program for ages 16–24. Vontyna also contributes nationally as a participant in the FMCSA Safe Driver Apprenticeship Pilot Program (SDAP). With a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice/Sociology and advanced training in workforce development and nonprofit leadership, Vontyna combines education, community engagement, and transportation expertise to expand career access and second-chance opportunities.

Laura Duryea

Laura entered the Transportation Industry as a Professional Driver in 1993 after graduating from Carnegie Mellon University with a BFA in Viola Performance. Over the span of her career, she ran a fishing lake and campground, drove for 25 years and teamed for 11 of those years, owned an organic farm for 15 years with pastured poultry, sheep, laying hens, and organic vegetables, was Secretary and Bingo Manager for the Dover Township Volunteer Fire Department, was named to the FMCSA Women of Trucking Advisory Board in 2022, is involved as a Peer Leader in ATA’s Women in Motion program, is Chair of the Content Committee for Women in Trucking, is on the Advisory Board for Effingham County College and Career Academy, belongs to the Savannah Professional Women for Good, is on the Industry Affairs Committee and Workforce Development Committees for the American Trucking Association, and serves on the Events Committee for the First City Pride Center in Savannah. Now the Director of Driver Recruitment and Professional Growth at Boyle Transportation, her goal is to build the happiest fleet of drivers in the Industry and to empower individuals to reach their goals.

Meagen Eisenberg

Meagen Eisenberg is a seasoned executive and board member and brings collective experience of nearly 25 years from some of the fastest growing and most successful companies in enterprise and SaaS technology. In her current role, Meagen leads the marketing and growth teams of Samsara as its Chief Marketing Officer. Meagen joined Samsara from Lacework (acquired by Fortinet), where she was Chief Marketing Officer and led the marketing, growth, and sales development teams. Previously, she was the Chief Marketing Officer at Navan (formerly TripActions) and has held senior marketing leadership positions at DocuSign, HP Enterprise, and ArcSight. Meagen has a MIS and CSC at California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo and an MBA from Yale School of Management.

Susan Fall

Susan Fall is considered a true pioneer in the world of trucking technology. After graduating from the University of California - Santa Barbara, Susan began working for Qualcomm in 1993. She was there at a time when telematics and GPS was revolutionizing the trucking industry, Qualcomm was leading the way and her job was to make sure everyone knew about it.

Having found her true calling, in 2000, Susan took her public relations expertise and industry knowledge and founded LaunchIt Public Relations. She recognized that there was a lack of public relations for transportation technology startups and credible guidance for companies in the freight transportation industry. She saw companies struggle and fail, not because their technology products failed, but because they had no way to enter and gain traction in the highly relationship-oriented freight transportation industry. Mandy Graham

Mandy Graham has been with the organization for over 25 years. Her background includes Underwriting, Business Development, and Industry Outreach. As COO, Mandy works directly with Great West’s five regional offices as well as the Joe Morten & Son agency and oversees Corporate Marketing activities. Mandy’s designations include CPCU, CIC, AU, CISR, AIS and INS. She has held Board of Directors positions with the Oregon Trucking Association and the American Red Cross, and currently serves as Treasurer for the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, Mandy joined the Women In Motion Advisory Council of the American Trucking Associations, serving as co-Chair of the Influence Pillar.

Jaime Hamm

Jaime Hamm serves as the Senior Vice President of Safety and Recruiting at Werner®, where she oversees Safety, Recruiting, Terminal Management and Risk/Workers' Compensation Management. She plays a critical role in representing Werner in litigation cases and leads strategic initiatives to enhance safety, streamline operations, and implement new training programs and technologies that drive company-wide improvements.

Since joining Werner in April 1997 as a Log Consultant, Jaime has built an impressive career by steadily advancing through multiple leadership roles. She quickly progressed into management, overseeing log compliance, driver services and student driver training before expanding her responsibilities in corporate safety and risk management. Her leadership and expertise led her to roles such as Corporate Safety Specialist, Senior Director of Safety and Compliance and Vice President of Safety and Compliance, culminating in her current position as Senior Vice President of Safety and Recruiting.

Beyond her core responsibilities, Jaime is an active leader in both internal and external industry initiatives. She is the Chairman of the Safety Policy Committee for the American Trucking Associations (ATA), a Steering Committee Member for Women In Motion and a member of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee. She also supports Truckers Against Trafficking and Operation Underground Railroad in the fight against human trafficking. Internally, she participates in the Werner’s WeVets group, supporting events including the 50 Mile March and the annual Patriotic Parade. She also serves on the WernerBlue committee and is a sponsor and steering committee member for the Werner Road Team.

Jaime’s leadership and contributions led to her receiving the Women in Supply Chain Award from SDC, recognizing her impact as a female leader in the industry.

Manny Hoyt

Manny is a graduate of the ATA LEAD program and is serving over a two-year term on the Women in Motion Board. She is also involved with the Waypoint Advisory Board and has participated in Trucking U mentorship initiatives. Cecilia “Cece” Kelly

Cecilia Kelly is a dynamic and purpose-driven sales leader with over a decade of experience in the transportation, logistics, and staffing industries. As Enterprise Sales Director at TransForce, she leads national initiatives in CDL staffing, workforce marketing, and driver training solutions—delivering scalable, strategic growth for some of the country’s largest transportation providers.

Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Cecilia oversees a portfolio of major carrier accounts nationwide. She is responsible for generating new business, expanding market share, and driving multimillion-dollar revenue growth through consultative, enterprise-level sales. Her role includes strategic planning, relationship development with C-suite leaders, and cross-functional collaboration with internal teams spanning recruiting, operations, marketing, and sales enablement.

With strong business acumen and a proven track record in B2B sales, Cecilia consistently exceeds performance targets while supporting organizational goals for workforce innovation and client success.

Beyond her corporate leadership, Cecilia is a passionate advocate for equity and representation in the trucking industry. Her commitment is deeply personal: in 2001, her sister was tragically killed in a trucking accident—a life-changing event that also led her father, a proud owner-operator, to leave the industry. Cecilia’s work in transportation has been both healing and mission-driven. In her sister’s memory, she is dedicated to advancing safety, accountability, and inclusion throughout the industry.

Cecilia holds an MBA in Marketing from Capella University and a BA in Communication from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her blend of strategic insight, frontline sales leadership, and personal conviction makes her a powerful and inspiring candidate for the Women in Motion Board of Directors.

Megan Melichar

Megan Melichar has multiple years of experience at various FedEx operating companies and business areas, predominantly focused on process improvement, safety, finance and leadership. A background in accounting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance, Megan has facilitated several business areas with project management and strategic improvements.  Megan joined the Safety organization at FedEx Ground in 2012 and held multiple progressive roles, including Director, for 8 years, and led the organization to adopt vehicle safety technology.  Megan is currently Managing Director Finance, at FedEx Ground, where her team conducts several financial planning & analysis functions for the organization.

Megan has a Bachelor’s of Science in Management & Accounting from University of Pittsburgh, and a Master’s in Forensic Accounting from Duquesne University.  She holds Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Forensic Examiner (CFE) licenses.  Megan is an ATA LEAD graduate from Class 2016-2017.  Megan is a Board member of North Hills Community Outreach, which helps people in need in multiple neighborhoods of Pittsburgh’s northern Allegheny County.  She lives in Pittsburgh with her husband Joe and their two children, Margot (5) and Merrick (2).

Gena Mullenax

Gena Mullenax is a workforce development leader with six years of experience at Fastport, where she has been instrumental in expanding Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RA Programs) across the transportation and logistics industries. She has collaborated with 25 industry associations, including the American Trucking Associations (ATA), to develop scalable, sustainable apprenticeship models that address workforce shortages and create long-term career pathways.

Gena is passionate about bridging workforce gaps by making apprenticeship adoption simple and accessible for employers while ensuring job seekers—especially veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses—have the support and resources needed for career success. Through her efforts, she has helped companies build strong, skilled talent pipelines that drive industry growth and innovation.

Brenda Neville

Iowa Motor Truck Association

Brenda Neville is the President & CEO of the Iowa Motor Truck Association, a statewide trade association that has been representing the interested of Iowa’s trucking industry since 1942. Headquartered at the foot of the Iowa State Capitol, IMTA advocated for a pro-trucking, pro-business environment for its 700+ members at both the state and national level. Brenda has been with the trucking association for over 30 years serving as senior vice president for 14 years before being moved into the top slot in 2008. In addition to her predominant role in Iowa’s trucking industry, Brenda is active in many organizations and served on numerous professional boards on both the state and national level specific to trucking and freight management priorities. One of Brenda’s greatest passions is to give back to the association community and she has coordinated and led the state’s certification process for state association executives for over 20 years. She is also a  big proponent of leadership programs and strategic planning and has worked with many trade associations as well as several businesses in these specific areas as well. Brenda graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with degrees in Business and Psychology and continues to do graduate work. Brenda enjoys anything that allows her to be physically and mentally challenged and also allowing her to be outside. Her and husband Joe reside in rural Polk county and have two grown sons.

Nicole Oreskovic

A highly regarded leader with proven, hands-on experience across the business, Nicole has called Bendix home her entire career. Nicole joined Bendix in 1997 as a co-op student in the Quality group. During her over 28-year tenure, she has successfully tackled dynamic and progressive assignments within Quality, Purchasing, and product line management. Each post enabled her to build broad product expertise and forge strong customer relationships. From 2013 - 2019 – a dynamic period of significant and sustained growth for Bendix Air Disc Brakes – Nicole was at the helm as CoC Director. In December 2019, she was named Sr. Director – Marketing & Product Strategy, and in April 2022, she was elevated to the VP of Sales and Marketing role with responsibility for the OE, aftermarket, and fleet channels, as well as government and industry affairs. An active member of the MEMA Heavy Duty Marketing and Sales Forum, Nicole currently serves as Vice-Chair of the industry group. Nicole holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Kettering University, Flint, Michigan, and an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. She enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family in her free time

Priscilla Peters

Priscilla Peters has over 27 years’ experience in the transportation industry, specializing in driver recruiting, retention, marketing, advertising, communications and training. She is currently the Chief Marketing Officer for Conversion Interactive Agency, the largest recruitment technology and advertising agency in the trucking industry. Priscilla is the co-host of The Resource podcast, was named a 2023 Top Woman to Watch in Trucking by Women in Trucking, and was awarded the 2024 Brand Innovator Award by the Transportation Marketing & Sales Association. She works with organizations nationwide on driver recruiting and retention strategy, and she brings insight and first-hand experience on how motor carriers should think differently when it comes to today’s driver market.

Rebecca Pohl Liette

Rebecca Pohl Liette is the Vice President of Marketing at Pohl Transportation, which is her family’s company. The company has been open since 1991, and Liette has worked there since 2003. Liette started off in the general office and was trained in almost every department of the company including Billing, Safety, and Customer Service. Rebecca attended the University of Dayton and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Molly Shultz
America's Road Team Captain

Molly Shultz has been a professional truck driver for 27 years and has accumulated over 2.5 million safe driving miles. She is an over-the-road driver for TransLand. Molly was awarded the Missouri Trucking Association Chair’s Safe Driver Club in 2020, 2021, and 2022. For four consecutive years starting in 2019, she was named TransLand’s Blue Diamond Elite Driver. Molly received the National Association of Small Trucking Companies 2023 Driver of the Year. Molly also received the Missouri Trucking Association Driver of the Month in October 2023. Molly is a TransLand Driver Trainer and is a member of the Driver Advisory Council. She is a member of the TransLand Driver Recruiting and Retention Analysis Team. Molly has been a Care to Learn tractor driver since 2019. The Care to Learn tractor is in support of the Care to Learn organization that is dedicated to meeting the health, hunger, and hygiene needs of students, ensuring that they have the resources to succeed in school. For every mile that Molly drives, TransLand donates $0.05 to Care to Learn. Molly resides in Springfield, Missouri with her wife, Melissa, and son Ayrion.

With over 30 years of marketing leadership and more than 15 years dedicated to the trucking and transportation industry, Chris brings a deep understanding of both the business and the people who drive it forward. Throughout her career, Chris has championed innovation, storytelling, and purpose-driven marketing. Her work has helped elevate industry brands, foster trust with key stakeholders, and drive measurable growth. At PrePass, she plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s voice and vision, ensuring it resonates with carriers, drivers, and partners within the industry. Chris is especially passionate about building a community rooted in collaboration, mentorship, and empowerment. She believes in creating spaces where diverse voices are heard, leadership is nurtured, and the next generation of industry professionals can thrive. Marilyn Surber serves as the VP of Sales and Marketing at Drivers Legal Plan and was previously Head of Industry Relations at Tenstreet since 2019. Marilyn has been a part of the transportation industry since 2008. She is passionate about serving the transportation industry and is an advocate for transportation community. She has over 15 years’ experience in corporate communication, recruiting, safety and driver training. Prior to joining Tenstreet, Marilyn served in a number of roles with Melton Truck Lines and Hilti, Inc. Marilyn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from The University of Tulsa. She served on the Board of Directors for the Commercial Vehicle Training Association, where she was named Member of the Year in 2019 and was selected by Oklahoma Magazine as a Top 40 under 40 for the state of Oklahoma in 2019. Marilyn is an active member of American Trucking Association, Truckload Carriers Association, Commercial Vehicle Training Association and the National Association of Publicly Funded Truck Driving Schools and numerous state trucking Associations. In addition, Marilyn serves on the Women In Motion Advisory Board for ATA and the North Carolina Trucking Association Women In Trucking Advisory Board.

Cummins

Krista is General Manager for Cummins’ On-Highway Business in North America.  She is responsible for advancing Cummins’ Destination ZeroTM strategy by offering innovative, clean-power solutions through strategic partnerships.  From developing lower-emissions engines to hydrogen fuel cells, Destination ZeroTM is Cummins’ commitment to invest exclusively in technology to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 in a way that is best for all stakeholders. Krista began her 19-year Cummins career in marketing, before quickly transitioning to on-highway sales for the engine business.  She has contributed to the company’s success in various leadership roles, from managing a division sales team to overseeing the Integrated Account Management (IAM) for one of Cummins’ largest OEM partners.  Krista’s career experience includes becoming a Six Sigma Green Belt where she is a two-time recipient of Cummins’ prestigious Six Sigma Chairman’s Award.  She possesses deep knowledge of the North America on highway market and is a strong advocate for promoting women to the trucking industry.  Krista is a graduate of Cummins Global Leadership Development Program (GLDP) and is involved in several industry associations such as American Trucking Association (ATA), Indiana Motor Truck Association (IMTA) and ATA’s Women in Motion.  She completed her undergraduate work at Indiana State University and received her MBA from the University of Louisville.  Krista currently lives in Indianapolis with her husband Doug and two children (Charlie – 17; Auggie – 14).   

Melissa Wade

Melissa Wade serves as Aurora’s Head of Federal Government Relations and Policy Engineering. Melissa leads strategic efforts to shape legislative and regulatory frameworks to support Aurora’s mission of delivering the benefits of self-driving technology safely, quickly, and broadly. Since joining Aurora in 2019, Melissa has spearheaded impactful policy initiatives and forged critical coalitions that have been instrumental to the company’s growth and the industry’s advancement. This work includes tackling regulatory hurdles, including identifying and addressing outdated regulations that impede both traditional and emerging technology safety. Melissa also actively contributes to the broader mission of safety, serving on the boards of multiple trade associations and coalitions dedicated to reducing vehicle-related fatalities in the United States. Melissa’s deep expertise is rooted in her prior role as Chief Counsel for the U.S. Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade. While serving on the Committee, she was the principal author of the SELF DRIVE Act, landmark federal legislation that was the first of its kind to pass the U.S. House of Representatives. This legislation established a clear federal framework for the U.S. Department of Transportation to encourage the testing and deployment of autonomous vehicles. The Act notably required comprehensive engagement from all impacted industries, including OEMs, dealers, insurance companies, and technology firms, demonstrating Melissa’s ability to build consensus around complex, transformative policy.

Sarah Wellman is Director of Corporate Affairs at Ryder System, Inc. Sarah leads Ryder's government relations, industry engagement, and sustainability reporting.

Sarah has 10 years in the transportation industry and over 15 years in public service, which extended to working on Capitol Hill for two U.S. Senators with a focus on transportation, trade, energy, environment, and agriculture. Her political experience includes numerous campaigns across all levels of government.

Sarah serves as the American Trucking Associations Environmental & Energy Policy Committee Vice Chair, Women in Motion Advisory Council Advocacy Co-Chair, Truck PAC Board of Director, Strategic Priorities Committee member, and holds an officer position on the Florida Trucking Association Board of Directors.

Sarah graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and minors in Political Science and Public Relations. 

Shannon Wheeler

Shannon Wheeler is the General Counsel at Tenstreet, the trucking industry’s leading marketplace solution provider for drivers and carriers. Shannon leads all legal and risk management functions at Tenstreet, including consulting on strategic initiatives and partnerships, counseling on all labor and employment matters, managing the Company’s compliance responsibilities, and advising on the development of Tenstreet’s software products from a compliance focus. During her seven years at Tenstreet, she has led the initiatives for six (6) different entity acquisitions helping to grow Tenstreet where value could be realized in the market. As a trucking industry compliance expert, Shannon consults with Tenstreet customers and their legal representatives on trucking industry regulations and best practices as well as how to practically achieve compliance through the use of the Tenstreet Platform. Similarly, Shannon regularly provides education and industry compliance information to Tenstreet customers speaking on webinars and at the Company’s annual User Conference. She is also regularly invited to speak at various industry conferences including, the Transportation Lawyers Association, and the American Trucking Association. Prior to joining Tenstreet, Shannon spent a decade representing clients with general business litigation and consulting needs. Her private practice had a strong focus on defending employers faced with employment law claims, representing companies with shareholder disputes, defending companies faced with personal injury tort claims, and representing banks regarding security interests and priority claims. Shannon graduated with highest honors from the University of Tulsa College of Law after receiving her bachelor’s degree in business from Oklahoma State University with an emphasis in finance, economics, and accounting.
