The Written and Spoken Word - Jean Card Ink. : Jean Card Ink.

Lunch Presenter: Jean Card

Jean Card is a speechwriter and mindset-based speaking coach who helps her clients translate complicated issues and stories into compelling, persuasive English. Notably, she spent six years in the executive branch of the U.S. government as a speechwriter for the Secretaries of Treasury and Labor as well as the Attorney General.

Since her time in government, Jean has been a columnist for U.S. News & World Report, a spokeswoman for national organizations, a political commentator in national and global media, and a podcaster. Jean was trained by Weight Watchers International to be a cognitive-behavior-based wellness coach — a role she played on the side of her communications career for 15 years that now informs her work as a speaking coach. She is a graduate of Middlebury College — where she majored in English — and has also studied at the University of Kent at Canterbury in the U.K.

Panel Discussion: What to Expect on the Hill

Participants from last year's WIM Call On Washington will participate in a panel discussion exploring what to expect on the Hill. Panelists will explore what surprised them about their day of Hill Meetings last year and what they would do differently knowing what they now know. This panel aims to help this year's participants gain a clear sense of what the day of back-to-back Hill Meetings will be like, to ensure that all participants feel prepared and ready to hit the ground running.
