Laura entered the Transportation Industry as a Professional Driver in 1993 after graduating from Carnegie Mellon University with a BFA in Viola Performance. Over the span of her career, she ran a fishing lake and campground, drove for 25 years and teamed for 11 of those years, owned an organic farm for 15 years with pastured poultry, sheep, laying hens, and organic vegetables, was Secretary and Bingo Manager for the Dover Township Volunteer Fire Department, was named to the FMCSA Women of Trucking Advisory Board in 2022, is involved as a Peer Leader in ATA’s Women in Motion program, is Chair of the Content Committee for Women in Trucking, is on the Advisory Board for Effingham County College and Career Academy, belongs to the Savannah Professional Women for Good, is on the Industry Affairs Committee and Workforce Development Committees for the American Trucking Association, and serves on the Events Committee for the First City Pride Center in Savannah. Now the Director of Driver Recruitment and Professional Growth at Boyle Transportation, her goal is to build the happiest fleet of drivers in the Industry and to empower individuals to reach their goals.
